Dr. Jeff Ekery

Dr. Ekery is a third generation El Pasoan.
After completing his undergraduate studies at UTEP and UT Austin, he received his Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1973 from the University of Houston, College of Optometry. Shortly thereafter, he entered private practice. Dr. Ekery provided family vision care with a special emphasis on treatment and detection of eye disease. He underwent additional, extensive training for certification in the care of refractive surgery. Dr. Ekery was also active in numerous professional and civic organizations. Among them, the Board of Directors of the Texas Optometrist Association, Leadership El Paso, Yucca Council Boy Scouts, Lighthouse for the Blind, Past President of Prevent Blindness and Past President of the El Paso Optometric Society. |

Dr. Baptiste is a Therapeutic Optometrist. He hails from New Orleans, LA where he received an undergraduate degree from Xavier University. He completed his optometric studies at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry/Salus University, graduating in 1996.
Following his heart, he moved back to New Orleans to begin his successful private practices. His offices grew to three. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated all three practices. Dr. Baptiste has an extensive background in diagnosing and treatment of eye diseases, hard-to-fit contact lenses, allergy eyes, pre/post op LASIK and dry eye treatments. As the field of eye-care progressed, so has Dr. Baptiste's skills. Dr. Baptiste is certified by the Texas Optometry Board as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialists! Called to serve, Dr. Baptiste moved to El Paso in 2012. Dr. Baptiste joined Dr. Ekery at El Paso Optical Center in 2017. |
The staff and community has welcomed him with love and support. Dr. Baptiste has made El Paso Optical Center "home".
He provides tele-medicine skills in the six states where he is licensed: Indiana, Louisiana, Nevada, New York, Tennessee, and Texas.

Had a great experience with Dr. B and the whole staff! It was my 6-year old's first eye appointment and they talked to her through the whole process making sure she understood what was going on. Highly recommend!
